I use them daily and need to rely on this for my editing and video production. Repairs or replacement of computer USB ports are expensive and these all but eliminate that potential hazard. I will continue to use this method.

You would need a regular USB A to B cable like 28101. The USB A male to male cable would not be the correct cable for your application.

Can this cable be used for Windows Easy Transfer connections between a Windows 7 and Windows 8 computer? In other words, can I use this cable to connect 2 computers and use the built-in Windows Easy Transfer software to move files from my old PC (Windows 7) to my new PC (Windows 8). NOTE: I do not want to use C2G's software.

Could I use this cable to attach my windows laptop computer to my Jeep Grand Cherokee sound system that has 1500 songs on its hard disk, and rip those songs off the Jeep system and into my computer?

No. That would not be a use for this cable. It sounds like you would need to use a USB hard drive to export the songs from the sound system.
