Selecting Q-Series Fiber Distribution Components
Installation and protection of equipment and connections are concerns of every company utilizing fiber optic technology. Downtime spent installing, upgrading and maintaining means loss of business function that translates into loss of employee productivity and profit. There are many companies who produce fiber distribution products that strive to accomplish ease of use while maintaining a high degree of performance and protection. For many companies, though, smaller budgets may mean a delay in introducing a proper distribution system to fit their present and future needs. The Q-Series Fiber Distribution System streamlines the deployment and management of fiber optic cabling - providing the most installer-friendly and cost-effective enterprise solution on the market. Q-Series allows quicker installs and upgrades along with fewer parts to inventory. It is designed to save time and money thanks to a pre-terminated and high density design. It's flexible and future-proof, based on a scalable modular approach that can easily grow with your system.
And, all it takes is two easy steps.
Step 1: Choose Your Enclosure
Rack-mount and wall-mount enclosures offer many options for installations of any size. Rack-mount enclosures can securely house 3, 6 or 12 pre-terminated modules or adapter panels while taking up 1, 2 or 4U of space. Each enclosure is designed to fit in racks or cabinets supporting 19" or 23" rails with mounting ears that can be adjusted to three different depths. Rack-mount enclosures also offer front and rear doors along with removable top panels for ease of access.Wall-mount enclosures come in a variety of sizes including 1, 2, 4, and 12 modules. These heavy-duty enclosures feature a low profile that requires little wall space, as well as a large routing space for accessible patch cabling entrance. A latching front door, with optional locks, provides convenient and secure access. Both types of enclosures are constructed out of 100% steel and are guaranteed for life.
Step 2: Choose Your Module or Adapter Panel
Our breakout modules are available in 16 off-the-shelf configurations - supporting conventional terminations such as LC, SC and ST. Custom modules can also be made quickly. Modules provide the distribution of the 12-strand MTP connector come fully loaded with the pre-terminated and tested MTP breakout harness. This saves installation time and ensures factory-quality performance. The test results are also shipped with each module to aid those calculating optical budgets. For those with older infrastructures or with cabling already in place, adapter panels are available in a wide variety of connector types and strand counts. Since they come loaded with mating sleeves you simply choose the connector types that meet the needs. Again, custom adapter panels can be created. Both modules and adapter panels are made of steel and guaranteed for life.
